Milestone's of the Month

1. Caroline began crawling two weeks ago (September 10th to be exact) and now at the mere sight of food in my hands, she can zip across the room in under 5 seconds. She prefers the one-knee, one-foot style of crawling.

2. Simultaneous to crawling, Chris & I had no choice but to begin using the N-word with our little sweet pea. She looks back every time we utter the word “No” as she goes right for the most expensive (and dangerous) piece of equipment in the house - the TV - but I don’t think she’s ready to admit she understands what it means yet.

3. Waving began on Sunday. If she decides to use both hands, one hand is always turned out while the other is turned so she can wave to herself at the same time. What could be cuter than that?

4. Finally, September 18th marked Caroline’s first real vacation, which included her 1st flight in an airplane, 1st cruise, 1st time in a car without a car seat (not recommended, especailly in a foreign country!), 1st swim in tropical waters (the Bahama’s) and of course, first full cup of sand consumed in one sitting. She was the best little traveler! Vacations are completely different now (we were definitely on the same schedule as all the senior citizen’s on the cruise – waking up with the sun and in bed when our friends were just beginning their days). The lessons learned are that planning and preparing for every possible scenario and staying flexible are the keys to having a great vacation with a baby. At the rate we’re going, I’m also strongly considering purchasing stock in baby sunblock.

I know I've said this before, but every day is more fun than the last with Caroline. Whoever matched us up together did a fantastic job!
