Transition Complete

After six months, I believe the transition from working woman to stay at home mom has ended. I no longer question whether I should be working vs. staying at home nor do I have nightmares about being at work and absent mindedly leaving Caroline in the car the entire time. I am comfortable with the fact that my main job is caring for and raising my daughter and it's a job I take very seriously.

I have found it difficult to alter my corporate mentality, however, even with a job as drastically different as parenting. The same planning, research and creative thinking is a part of my every day life, just as it was when I was in the workforce. My goal to bring Caroline up to be a strong, independent, smart and loving person is more important than any corporate goal. It is without question that being able to watch as she learns new things every day, being the one to hug her when she’s sad and listening to that tiny little voice giggle away, cannot compare to any size salary.
